FIAS Flexible Interactive Archive System

Supplying objects on the internet

In FIAS, every object can be published on the Internet. The first step is to define which data and files are to be published, using the interface shown above.

In the second step, the recipients of the published data and the lifetime period of the publication ticket are defined. FIAS informs the designated recipients via an e-mail, which contains a link to the published data.

In this manner, even larger files can be sent without spilling the e-mail account of a recipient or being rejected by firewalls

The recipient gains access to the released metadata and files by clicking on the link. A video file can be played back or saved on the recipients’ hard drive. Even recipients with slow internet connections will be able to download larger files without time-out problems.
