Studio Hamburg Distribution & Marketing (SHDM) selects Harmonic's Rhozet transcoding technology for its media asset management system FIAS
Hamburg, 15th of September 2008. Studio Hamburg Distribution & Marketing (SHDM), a Studio Hamburg Group company, has adopted Rhozet Carbon Coder media transcoding solution for its SHDM media asset management FIAS.
FIAS (Flexible Interactive Archive System) is a browser-based media asset management system application that can be accessed through every internet computer, providing all necessary functions to archive, document and publish multi-media content in an efficient and concise way.
In the development of FIAS, SHDM Online Media has applied all its experience as one of the major German distributors of TV programmes. FIAS offers all the necessary features that are needed by modern and international media companies to archive, document and distribute audiovisual content. With the new Carbon Coder it delivers even more value and flexibility. Now, users can browse video files over the web, define frame accurate sequences like with an editing software and download the self-defined sequences in all the target formats that are supplied by Carbon Coder, from high-resolution video with e.g. 50mpbs to low-resolution flash or windows media video.
Harmonic’s Rhozet Carbon Coder is a universal transcoding application that facilitates the transfer of media between a variety of platforms, including acquisition, editing, playout, archive, the Internet and mobile devices.
